This is a Limited Edition 512ce 12-Fret from Taylor which features a Western Red cedar top paired with Hawaiian koa back and sides, all finished in a beautiful Shaded Edgeburst. Cedar’s soft-touch response and low-end warmth makes it an ideal counterbalance as a guitar top with back and sides of koa, since the Hawaiian tonewood tends to be brighter and more articulate. The 12-fret configuration makes a difference here, since the shifted bridge position opens up greater depth and presence in the midrange, while also giving the guitar a slinky, relaxed fretting feel. The guitar is complete cosmetically with faux tortoise binding and classy Century inlays carved from grained ivoroid.
